Wednesday Night Live
In 2004 we moved Sunday school to Wednesday nights.  The evening starts at 6pm with supper.  Parents and families are welcome to join their student.  At 6:30pm classes begin.  Are trained, caring and energetic teachers walk the students through Bible stories using crafts, storytelling and other activities to help the students engage scripture.  At 7:10 the students head up stairs for music.  In the fall they work to prepare a Christmas program. After Christmas, we sing, because after all, we enjoy making a joyful noise unto the Lord.  Come and check things out at WNL.  You are welcome to start anytime.

"Meat and Potatoes" Bible Study
This Bible study is for adults who want to go deeper in scripture.  Adults are welcome to join the WNL crew for supper at 6pm.  At 6:30pm we begin our study.  Currently we are studying the up coming Sunday scripture texts.  This serves as a way to prepare ourselves for worship.  Anyone is welcome.

Release Time
From Sept through Easter, 3rd, 4th and 5th graders are "released" from school, if they so choose, to come for Bible classes at various churches.  This year at Salem we are focusing on prayer and The Bible.  Currently students are learning how to use their Bibles, what's in theirs Bibles and the books of the Bible.  Classes run from 2:00 to 3:00pm

First Communion
When students reach the 5th grade, they are welcome to continue their faith journey participating in First Communion classes.  Students (along with their parents) will learn and talk about the awesome love that God shows us in this sacrament.  First Communion class are held during Lent with First Communion usually being celebrated during the Maundy Thursday service.  Call the church office or keep an eye on the church calendar for class information.

Confirmation
When students enter 7th grade they have the opportunity to continue their faith journey in confirmation.  Confirmation is a two year program with students having a chance to affirm their faith in October of the 9th grade year.  The curriculum includes one year of Bible and one year of catechsim/Lutheran theology.  Other requirements include: (1) Memory work - scripture and catechsim, (2) Worship worksheets, (3) Acolyting, (4) Service projects, (5) Class attendance, and (6) A Faith statement.  Classes meet at Salem on Wednesdays from 3:30 to 4:30pm.  Contact Pastor Eric for more information.
